Parks by Henry Audubon with the Nightfall expansio Parks by Henry Audubon with the Nightfall expansion makes a great solo game. Stunning paintings on huge cards!! I've had good solo playthroughs letting the A.I. rangers go on ahead and collect all of the freebies on the trail tiles each season. This allows me to take my time collecting other things, and maximizing actions. I particularly like letting an A.I. ranger take the Parks tile while I use the copy cat tile, then take the Parks tile and use my other pawn to take the copy cat tile. This is a great way to spam my park collection with New parks. I wonder if this strategy would work with a real life opponent? 🤔 My wife mopped the floor with me last weekend. Now I want a rematch!! Great game Mr. Audubon and Keymaster👏👏👏! How's my score, y'all? Anyway, a lot of love went into making this game, bravo and thank you!! I would love to see Caribbean national parks snorkeling tiles/cards/actions expansion. We played Raccoon Tycoon (designed by Glenn Drover We played Raccoon Tycoon (designed by Glenn Drover and published by Forbidden Games) this past weekend. It was way more exciting than a market manipulation game should be. Don't let the cute fuzzy animals fool you, the auction is brutal and is likely where the game is won or lost, especially if you're dumb enough to bid $95 for a Fat Cat railroad card...(doh!!). The quality of the game's components is very high, and the original paintings by Annie Stegg Gerard are a joy to look at and are so thoughtfully and artfully made; a lot of love going on in the production of this game. What I enjoyed most were the rapid-fire turns. You'll never find yourself looking at your watch, you won't even have time for a quick yawn! My advice though, get your railroad cards as early as u can👍!! Final comment? Wonky ending🤨 - I was done with my Autumn worker/card placement and my Winter preparation while Francesca was still in Summer - she already had 15 cards in her tableau, (no more are allowed). She called her workers back in her preparation for Autumn but there wasn't much for her to do in Autumn but place workers for points in the Journey area. None of the conditions for the Event cards in the tree were met because 1 or more of the Critters/Structures required ever showed up in the Meadow🤨 - still, we had fun, will play again tomorrow. #everdell #boardgames #starlinggames #boardgameplaytesting #boardgamedesign
So, Carnegie… It kind of pushed my brain to the So, Carnegie... It kind of pushed my brain to the edge. I forgot about the 12max points per token in the charity area. I thought I was going to clean house there but nope, ouch. Still, had a great time and as soon as it was over (4-player, 4 hours, 3 of us had never played it) I wanted to play it again immediately and try a different tactic. The departments you get to build in your office building are really powerful and are the heart of the fun IMHO, but the action/round-tracker is brilliant and reminds me of Boon Lake's action selection mechanic, which is also great fun Thanks for the excellent teach Chris Munton!!. #boardgames #boardgamedesign #carnegieboardgame #heavyboardgames #rvaboardgamer

Recently I had the wonderful and nerve-wracking privilege of having Chris & Suzanne Zinsli look at the rule book for Vespaw. (Thank you!!!) They went through it line by line with me and made genius suggestions. (BTW, if you design boardgames and are not a Cardboard Edison Patreon supporter you are truly missing out) - anyway, I'm learning that one of my superpowers is taking moderately complex concepts and making them impossible to understand. 😂 It's a gift.
